In 2024, we are excited to expand our operations with a new facility set to open in the coming months. This expansion will significantly increase our production capacity, featuring a state-of-the-art powder coat automated process, from cleaning to oven curing. This new technology will enable us to fulfill orders more efficiently and provide even more tailored solutions to our valued customers.

Our History

Nema Enclosures was founded in 1987 by a NASA employee who began custom fabricating enclosures in a small rented warehouse in Houston, TX. Working evenings and weekends, he served a handful of customers with precision and dedication, laying the foundation for what would become a leading name in the custom electrical enclosure industry.

In January 2000, Rob Bohn purchased the business, returning to his manufacturing and engineering roots. Under Rob’s leadership, Nema Enclosures experienced significant growth, establishing itself as a leader in the custom make-to-order electrical enclosure industry, with a strong emphasis on third-party certification and customization.

In 2013, we became one of the first electrical enclosure manufacturers to launch an e-commerce platform, allowing customers to order standard, made-to-order products directly online. This innovation expanded our reach and made it easier for customers to access our high-quality products.

Building on this success, in 2017, we partnered with Vorne Industries to offer custom washdown enclosures through our online catalog. This partnership further diversified our product offerings and enhanced our ability to meet the specialized needs of our customers.

In 2023, we undertook a major website revamp, adding new product lines such as sloped top enclosures, double door wall mount enclosures, and disconnect enclosures. This expansion increased our standard product catalog to nearly 1,500 products, providing even more options for our customers.

In 2024, we partnered with additional investors to further fuel our growth trajectory. This strategic partnership brought new opportunities and resources to expand our capabilities and services. Alongside this, we welcomed Luke Davis as our new Chief Executive Officer. Luke’s extensive experience and vision for the future will guide us as we continue to innovate and better serve our customers. Rob Bohn remains actively involved as a Senior Advisor and a member of the newly established Board of Directors, ensuring continuity and a strong foundation for future success.
